Sunny to start but changes on the way.

For 11/8/09: For Today: The western weather pattern is continuing to feed a dirty mix of blown out systems into our area but the brunt continues to hold to the other side of the divide. We will see sunny skies this morning with increasing cloud cover through the day. There is a slight chance of some moisture in the forecast but it will likely hold off until tonight or tomorrow and hold over the divide and highest peaks.

Overnight lows have stayed consistent under the clear skies with Crested Butte climbing a couple degrees to 21 degrees while Gunnison stayed a little lower under the valley inversion at 16 degrees. Daytime highs will rebound quickly but probably weigh in a couple degrees lower than we have been seeing with the low 50’s likely for CB while Gunnison holds around 58. Look for building cloud cover to offer warmer overnight lows but still in the low 20’s valley wide.

Today will be a day of transition in the western weather pattern with the string of above normal temperatures and high pressure days starting to come to an end. Models are differing on the exact time and trajectory of weather building for this week but there are changes in store. Get outside and enjoy today and get those outdoor projects buttoned up.
