Some clouds but still beautiful.

For 11/6/09: For Today: We will continue to see mostly sunny skies but with the trappings of a moving front in the west offering scattered cloud cover and high gusting winds. We won’t see any organized moisture and the only clouds will remain high and thin. Look for winds gusting to 30mph to keep everything moving quickly and temperatures a little cooler.

The cloud cover we saw overnight lead to milder temperatures for Crested Butte only dropping to 23 degrees this morning while the weak inversion in Gunnison offered 16 degrees. Daytime highs will be moderated by the light clouds and gusting winds but we will see the mid 50’s and even low 60’s depending on elevation. Tonight will offer a thicker cloud layer which will likely drive lows to the 20’s valley wide.

The big shuffle we were expecting in the west has all but fizzled but we will see some variables through Sunday night and Monday on the higher terrain. Temperatures are slated to stay mild but look for a glancing blow from both southern and northern waves to offer cloud over and gusting winds becoming snow showers Sunday night. There is nothing too threatening so get outside but stay prepared.
