More sun as the high pressure ridge marches on.
For 11/4/09: For Today: We have another beautiful day on tap as this high pressure ridge continues it’s slow march across the west. It will be east of our area by tonight which will open the door to some changes but these will be limited to some cloud cover until a bigger change starts to form for the end of the weekend. Look for more clear and sunny conditions with a little more wind expected this afternoon.
Overnight lows were right on par with what we have been seeing with Crested Butte reporting 19 degrees this morning while Gunnison dropped another 4 degrees to 15 degrees under a slight valley inversion. Daytime highs will stay above seasonal norms with the low 50’s for the north end of the valley while Gunnison can expect the high 50’s with a swing at 60 degrees. Tonight’s lows will stay in the mid teens but some wind could drive the windchill lower.
The mostly sunny condition we have been enjoying will hold through the end of the week and into Saturday but a pacific system is building in the west that could offer some real changes by Sunday. Until then expect more sunny skies and just be prepared for the cold overnight lows.
