Another incredible day.
For 11/1/09: For Today: High pressure has settled in with any variables under the current pattern holding well to the north. We may see some high clouds building through the afternoon with gusting winds but that will be about it for challenges to the blue skies. Temperatures will continue to warm by a couple degrees a day into next week.
Overnight lows were fairly cold under the clear skies with Crested Butte reporting 16 degrees this morning and Gunnison checking in a couple degrees warmer at 18 degrees. Daytime highs will be rebounding quickly to the mid to high 40’s with the lower elevations possibly breaking through to the 50’s. Look for consistent overnight lows under the mostly clear skies bottoming out in the teens again.
We are seeing a solid trend of high pressure for southern Colorado with all the scattered moisture and cloud cover holding to the north. The winds we saw as this pattern setup scoured the inversion clear of the lower valleys and mild sunny conditions will be the trend valley wide.
