Fog early but sunshine will be breaking through.
For 10/21/09: For Today: The moisture associated with this latest round dipped to the south and lifted to the north through extreme western Colorado and eastern Utah. As a result, all but the most southern remnants stayed clear of our area and to the other side of the divide. The tail end and some wrap around moisture will offer fog early with scattered showers clearing through the day.
Overnight lows were mild under the southern influence with both Crested Butte and Gunnison bottoming out at 35 degrees this morning. Daytime highs will rise slowly with the fog early reaching only the high and low 40’s depending on your elevation. Tonight skies will clear and the combination of lingering cold from the north and clearer conditions could bring significantly colder overnight lows.
The brunt of this system has passed us and the lingering threat will be limited to the fog early and some wrap around moisture from the northeast. For the most part skies will be clearing throughout the day with a dirty western flow offering mostly sunny but mixed conditions through the end of the week. Expect milder temperatures and sunshine but stay tuned for the daily updates with smaller and harder to predict waves cycling through.
