Autumn glory days.
For 10/18/09: For Today: We are waking up to another cold morning as this clear high pressure holds but look for sunny skies to offer another day of beautiful fall conditions. Models are differing on the timing and the window for these conditions will be closing but it looks like Monday will present another nice day. Look for increasing light high cloud cover and some gusting northern winds but conditions should stay beautiful through this afternoon.
Overnight lows dropped under clear skies with Crested Butte dropping to 25 degrees while Gunnison moved even lower hitting 21 degrees this morning. Sunny skies will bring us around pretty quickly with another daytime high in the low 60’s for the north end of the valley while Gunnison and the lower valleys will climb to the high 60’s or even 70 degrees. Increasing cloud cover could help insulate as early as tonight but expect another cold clear night unless this cloud cover really chokes up on us.
We are seeing a colder northern wave setting up in the northwest and the current pattern has kept this clear of the area but a small southern shift into Tuesday will change this. We won’t see a direct hit but the glancing blow will effect some changes through the middle of the week. Today promises to be another autumn glory day so get outside and enjoy.
