Lingering remnants but clearer skies building.

For 10/15/09: For Today: Remnants from this last round of northern moisture are circling around from the northeast and lingering on the divide and higher terrain. Look for skies to clear throughout the day with the south end of the valley seeing the sunshine early with clouds clearing through to the north through the afternoon. We are still on track for the clear high pressure but this dirty western flow is slowing the approach a little.

Overnight lows were mild with the continued cloud cover with all elevations weighing in at 35 degrees this morning. Daytime highs will climb as skies clear but lingering cloud cover along the divide will keep Crested Butte cooler longer. Look for clearing skies overnight to allow for colder overnight lows dipping below the 30 degree mark.

Look for the mixed bag of conditions for today as these remnants clear the area. Local radar is not showing any organized moisture but stay prepared. High pressure from the west will build slowly into the area and we are still on track for a beautiful weekend, just taking the slow approach.
