Back again, back again.
For 10/11/09: Hello crested Butte, I’m back. Big thanks to Billy Rankin for filling in on the report. So it seems like Winter has crept a little closer to the valley since we left 2 weeks ago but nothing like the surprise of landing in Denver (with shorts on) with a temperature of 26 degrees at 1 pm and snow. By Fairplay the temperature had risen back to 50 degrees and the panic had subsided but a little more fall please. So the good news first. Today will offer some scattered cloud cover from the north with partly cloudy conditions holding on the divide and sunnier skies opening the further south you head. High pressure will hold through Columbus Day with beautiful conditions expected to hold all day. Tuesday will offer a day of transition and the introduction of moisture that will present variables through the end of the week.
Overnight lows were mixed with Crested Butte reporting 33 degrees this morning while Gunnison dropped much lower to 24 degrees. Daytime highs will offer the opposite split with Crested Butte holding to the low 50’s while Gunnison flirts with 60 degrees. Look for another colder overnight low under clear skies with all areas threatening the 20’s.
Monday will be the best day of the upcoming week so get outside and enjoy today and tomorrow. By Tuesday we will see the mixed bag of conditions with mild but variable conditions holding.
