High pressure holds.
For 9/27/09: Clear and sunny is the name of the game as this high pressure holds strong over our area. We can expect nothing but blue bird conditions with just some gusting winds building through the afternoons. Some light cloud cover could build on the higher terrain but not anything noticeable and there is almost 0 chance of any precipitation.
Overnight lows were cold again last night under the clear skies with both Crested Butte and Gunnison reporting 28 degrees this morning. Daytime highs will rebound quickly with the sunny skies driving highs to the 70’s valley wide with Gunnison even flirting with 80. Look for another night tonight a lot like last night with lows hovering right on the 30 degree mark for all elevations.
High pressure is the dominant weather feature holding in the west right now and is expected to hold through Monday but there are some significant changes on the way by the middle of the week. A cold front will return from the north offering more snow before clearing again by next weekend. That said, get outside and enjoy these next couple beautiful days. Billy Rankin will be doing the weather report while I am away on vacation so look for some changes but he’s more than qualified so enjoy the differences.
