More white peaks early but a sunny day on the way.
For 9/25/09: It looks like we have finally seen the end of this moisture recirculating around from the east as the system cycles clear of the area opening the door for high pressure and warmer temperatures from the west. Gusting winds will help everything along today with temperatures starting the climb back towards seasonal norms with a beautiful fall weekend setting up for the west.
Overnight lows were moderated at the north end of the valley by the cloud cover with Crested Butte reporting 31 degrees this morning while Gunnison dropped lower under the clearer conditions to 26 degrees. Daytime highs will start to warm rebounding quickly under the sunny skies with the low to high 60’s expected depending on elevation. Look for another colder overnight low with really clear skies tonight hovering right around the 30 degree mark for all elevations.
The combination of components currently developing in the west will make for some beautiful conditions through the weekend with temperatures increasing a solid 15 degrees under sunny skies. Get out and enjoy it because we will start to see another shift by the middle of next week that could return us to the colder temperatures.
