Another cold clear morning.
For 9/23/09: Wrap around moisture is continuing to recirculate from our east back along the divide. We will see another day of these scattered thundershowers building with the heat of the day with today’s moisture expected to reach back to Grand Junction before moving east again. This has mostly affected areas on the other side of the divide but the next round for tonight could make it into our area.
Overnight lows were cold with Crested Butte dropping to 28 degrees and Gunnison heading even lower bottoming out at 25 degrees. We will rebound slowly with the colder conditions holding but look for highs to reach for the high 50’s for Crested Butte and the 60’s for Gunnison. Overnight lows will likely be moderated by lingering cloud cover but this will still mean the low 30’s at best.
The effects of this moisture recirculating around from the east will hold into tomorrow with Friday offering a day of transition as drier conditions build into the weekend. We continue to straddle these systems and it will mean a weaker effect from both and harder to predict conditions. Stay prepared as you head out and expect more cold temperatures until Friday.
