A stormy night but sunny morning.

For 9/13/09: Active conditions through yesterday afternoon and overnight have fueled a saturated atmosphere and it’s looking like we could see more of the same weather like yesterday. Regional radar is showing a line of moisture pushing east out of southern Utah that will move over our area by the early afternoon and combine with the convective thundershowers that we could already expect. The result could be some stronger thunder cells with wetting rains.

Overnight lows were cold even with the thundershowers with Crested Butte reporting 37 degrees this morning while Gunnison held to 39 degrees. Daytime highs will look a lot like yesterday with areas of sunshine pushing Gunnison to the low 70’s and CB to the high 60’s before the cloud cover really builds. Look for another colder overnight low in the 30’s.

You will definitely want to get an early start on your adventures today with strong thunder cells a real possibility as the day progresses. The weather pattern is starting to look active for the better part of the upcoming week so definitely get outside but pack plenty of layers and have a plan.
