Sunny with just some light high clouds.

For 9/11/09: We are continuing to see a full mixed bag of conditions holding over the west with low pressure systems to the north and south keeping moisture trapped but very unorganized. Drier air is slated to settle into our area through today but a glancing blow from a northern cold front will stir up some stronger convective activity for Saturday.

Overnight lows dropped again under the clear skies with Crested Butte reporting 32 degrees this morning and Gunnison made it to 34 degrees. Daytime high will rebound quickly under mostly sunny skies with the high 60’s and low 70’s expected but a cold front to the north could keep us feeling a little cooler. Look for these same systems to drive temperatures down again tonight but increasing cloud cover could also help insulate.

The mix of systems starting today will mean isolated thundershowers this afternoon with windy conditions building tomorrow. A cold front to the north will stir up stronger storms along the divide and higher terrain that you will want to be prepared for. Drier conditions will build again for Sunday but these combined components will fuel some hard to predict conditions into next week.
