Clear and sunny early.

For 9/4/09: We are continuing to see moisture lifting into our area from the south and it will fuel another day of convective thundershowers building with the heat of the day. Mostly sunny skies early will turn quickly so you will need to be prepared with more hit or miss slow moving soakers on tap. Precipitable water levels will climb to an inch through Saturday and this will present stronger storm potential and likely wetting rains into Saturday afternoon.

Overnight lows were cold valley wide with the clear skies with all elevations reporting 34 degrees. We will continue to see daytime highs coming in just above normal in the mid 70’s but cloud cover will build quickly making the afternoon feel a lot cooler. Skies will likely clear again overnight but some high cloud cover could keep us warmer overnight but still just around the 40 degree mark.

The high pressure ridge slides through the east tonight and this will invite a more significant shot of moisture up from the south. We are seeing a reprieve from the remnants of hurricane but Saturday will present strong thunder cells that will linger overnight into Sunday. The end of the weekend and Labor Day are looking drier but thundershowers will be likely.
