Weather brewing in the west.

For 8/31/09: The remnants of this latest pacific wave are working their way clear of the area this morning with drier conditions building on the western edge. We will see a mix of sun and clouds early with isolated showers possible but moisture is limited and skies will clear into the afternoon.

The cloud cover that held with us overnight and kept the low temperatures moderate again with Crested Butte reporting 44 degrees this morning while Gunnison was a couple degrees warmer at 47 degrees. Daytime highs will climb to the mid to high 70’s for all elevations today with gusting winds expected into the afternoon. Skies will clear overnight allowing cooler overnight lows.

We are seeing an interesting weather soup develop for this week with a number of different components coming together. We will see a mostly western flow as pacific waves move through to the north with moisture increasing a bit everyday and fueling isolated thundershowers. The hurricane headed for Baja will also become a factor later in the week so expect changes and stay tuned.
