Another beautiful morning.
For 8/20/09: We are seeing this shift to the drier high pressure with clear and sunny conditions dominating early. Look for temperatures to climb a couple degrees everyday into the weekend with sunny skies and near record temperatures expected. Unfortunately it’s looking like the pattern will keep switching around to the southwest with a strong surge expected in the plume of subtropical moisture lifting into the 4 corners area through the weekend.
Overnight lows were cold again but stayed just on the warmer side of the freezing mark with Crested Butte dropping to 33 degrees and 34 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will climb a couple degrees with the 70’s expected for all elevations. The will carry into tonight but expect more cold lows in the mid 30’s.
The real shift to the wetter conditions from the south will start on Saturday but this plume won’t likely reach us to any measurable degree until Sunday evening and Monday. Models keep shifting on this so stay tuned for updates. Today and Friday will continue to offer warming temperatures and sunny skies so get outside and take advantage of this window of beautiful weather.
