A Blue Bird Weekend On Tap.

For 8/1/09: The dry air we were looking for has settled into the west and we are seeing little to no available moisture to fuel any convective activity. Skies will remain mostly sunny all day with just some isolated areas of cloud cover building over the higher terrain through the heat of the day that may also produce some gusting winds but conditions should be beautiful.

Overnight lows dropped under clear skies with this northern influence offering the lowest low in a while with Crested Butte reporting 36 degrees and 39 degrees in Gunnison. Daytime highs will rebound quickly but remain on the cooler side with the north end of the valley topping out in the low 70’s while Gunnison holds in the high 70’s. Expect another cool night but temperatures will be up a degree or two at all elevations as the cold front clears the area.

A warm dry pattern out of the northwest will set up through today with nothing but sunny skies on tap for the weekend. We will see some variables returning for next week but until then it’s going to be clear sailing with a window of weather you will definitely want to take advantage of. Plan the big adventure or projects with confidence and get outside.
