A perfect start.

For 7/14/09: The dry high pressure continues to move into our area and we will have warm dry conditions on tap through tonight. We shouldn’t see enough moisture to produce convective thundershowers this afternoon but we are right on the northern most edge so expect some popcorn cloud formations with the potential to become a very scattered thundershower.

Overnight lows dropped under the clearer skies with Crested Butte reporting 38 degrees this morning and Gunnison holding at 43 degrees. Daytime highs will hit the high 70’s for Crested Butte with Gunnison topping out at right around 80 degrees. Look for another colder overnight low as these clear skies hold.

Today should present nothing but blue skies for most of the day with some cloud cover building into the afternoon but no real moisture is available to produce storms. A last gasp from the south before we move fully in to the drier zonal pattern will offer increased cloud cover and even an isolated thundershower for Wednesday night. Other than that it’s clear sailing into the weekend with beautiful high pressure conditions.
