Another clear morning.

For 6/28/09: High pressure is continuing to set up in the west and moisture is diminishing as the drier air fills in. we will see more of the same mostly sunny skies through the better part of the day with big scattered popcorn cloud formations building on the higher terrain with the heat of the day. Expect gusting winds to keep everything moving quickly with only very isolated thundershowers possible.

Clear skies overnight allowed for the coolest overnight low we have seen in a week dropping to 39 degrees in Crested Butte while Gunnison on hit 45 degrees. Sunny skies early will mean another high in the 70’s valley wide with the lower valleys threatening the 80’s. Look for another colder clear night in the 30’s.

We are going to see this same pocket of high pressure dominating the weather through the beginning of the week with temperatures continuing to warm. Convective showers will remain a threat so be prepared as you head out but we should see beautiful conditions through Wednesday.
