Looks like more of the same on the way.

For 6/2/09: The drier conditions we were looking for out of the west have stalled with this moisture not really moving at all. The result will be more of the same convective showers building early and offering thundershowers that will build over the higher terrain and soak the lower valleys. Winds will still remain calm which is keeping us from seeing any measurable change.

Overnight lows remained fairly mild with the cloud cover with Crested Butte reporting 37 degrees this morning while Gunnison held to 39 degrees. Daytime highs will be stifled again by the consistent cloud cover with a little sunshine early popping us to the low 50’s.

The western weather pattern is continuing to feed us moisture into these stalled fronts and the build up behind the divide is what is fueling our thundershowers. Look for another round today that will look a lot like yesterday but expect the added component of some pea sized hail at some point. The changes we are seeing in the west lack any significant dynamics so none of this moisture is really moving. Bring plenty of layers if you are braving an adventure.
