Lingering cloud cover.
For 6/1/09: The moisture lifting into our area through the weekend has come to a head today with the end expected to clear the area overnight. Skies remained mostly cloudy overnight with a more organized shot of moisture riding the tail end of this system. The results will likely be the same for today with more isolated thundershowers but the cloud cover early will rob us of the morning sunshine.
Overnight lows stayed milder than we saw all weekend thanks to the insulating cloud cover with Crested Butte reporting 37 degrees this morning while Gunnison held to 39 degrees. Look for a cooler high today flirting with the 60’s at all elevations but this heavy cloud cover will limit the early warm up. Expect another night of milder overnight lows with more lingering cloud cover.
Regional radar is showing a line of moisture holding along the divide and higher terrain that will offer scattered rain and thundershowers through the day. We won’t see really any more rain than we have been seeing but the early build up will stretch it out over the course of the day. Drier conditions will build starting tomorrow and hold for the week.
