More mixed sun and clouds.

For 5/15/09: One of these northern systems has eddied out and will become an upslope event offering thundershower to the front range with some moisture possibly working it’s way back along the divide. This will mean available fuel for some convective activity over the highest terrain today and tomorrow but it would require a lot of pieces fall into place in just the right pattern.

Overnight lows have been pretty consistent this week with Crested Butte reporting 35 degrees this morning while Gunnison actually dropped lower to 33 degrees. Temperatures will hold to about where they were yesterday with highs today expected in the mid to low 60’s valley wide. If the cloud cover holds into tonight it will mean more lows in the mid 30’s or higher.

This moisture moving back along the divide should feed some cloud cover with isolated thundershowers holding further to the east but the potential will be there so be prepared if you are headed to the higher terrain. A high pressure ridge building in from the south this weekend will mean clearer conditions for Sunday and Monday with temperatures expected to climb to the warmest highs we have seen all spring.
