Mild early but moisture to the north.
For 5/12/09: Weak pacific systems are cycling through northern Colorado with the southern most end dragging through our area early. Regional radar is showing some moisture still to our west that will hug the divide with a 50/50 chance at staying to the other side. For the most part, skies will be clear and sunny for most of the valley but expect high wind gusts as a result of these systems passing to the north.
Overnight lows stayed very mild with Crested Butte reporting 41 degrees this morning while Gunnison reported 42 degrees thanks to the cloud cover. We will see another warm high today in the mid to high 60’s valley wide but gusting winds will have it feeling a little cooler.
Our only variable to the beautiful spring conditions are these weak systems to the north that will feed high winds and some scattered cloud cover. These shouldn’t be anything worth planning around but you will want to pack some layers and be aware if your adventures take you to the higher terrain.
