A mix of conditions over the area.

For 5/11/09: We are seeing a mix of conditions coming together in the west with offering a little of everything for this weeks forecast. We are seeing remnants again this morning from the northern moisture that cycled through on the other side of the divide but mostly sunny conditions will dominate again with just some high cloud cover.

The flow of the pattern through the weekend was a little more northerly than expected and temperatures have reflected this. Overnight lows dropped to 27 degrees for Crested Butte and 28 degrees for Gunnison even with the cloud cover. We will rebound quickly with much warmer southern conditions set to lift into the area offering highs in the 60’s valley wide through Tuesday. Cold fronts brushing the area for Wednesday and Friday will mean windy conditions and temperatures dropping back to the 50’s while overnight lows will hover right around the freezing mark.

As we continue to see more concentrated moisture to the north there will be fuel for isolated thundershowers building over the higher terrain. Look for this to be most evident tonight and tomorrow with the warm temperatures but there is nothing worth changing plans over. Remember the most active potential will be over the higher terrain and pack layers if that’s where your adventures take you.
