A little cloud cover early.
For 5/10/09: The high winds that we saw though the afternoon and overnight pushed this weak northern moisture south into our area. The glancing blow from the tail end has turned into a little more concentrated moisture but skies will clear through the morning with mostly sunny conditions expected by this afternoon.
Overnight lows stayed warm thanks to the cloud cover with Crested Butte reporting 38 degrees while Gunnison stayed right in check at 39 degrees. We will rebound a little slower than usual with the cloud cover but look for another high in the high 50’s and low 60’s. Clear skies will return again for tonight with lows dropping back to the freezing mark. We will see a very mild high pressure pattern setting up through the beginning of the week with the warmest temperatures we have seen so far this spring expected through Tuesday.
For today, the cloud cover we are seeing early will clear the area quickly and any moisture should be limited to the highest terrain at the north end of the valley. Head south for the sunnier conditions but the variables will be short lived so get out and have some fun.
