Rain all night with snow early.
For 5/4/09: We are seeing the tail end of this last round slowly pushing clear of the area this morning but regional radar is showing enough moisture to continue offering snow and rain through the middle of the day. We are seeing a significant change developing for later in the week but stubborn remnants will keep mostly rain falling through today.
Overnight lows hovered right on the freezing mark as evidenced by the snowline with Crested Butte reporting 32 degrees while Gunnison stayed a little warmer at 35 degrees. We will see the high climbing to the high 40’s and 50’s valley wide but not until later in the day when this moisture starts to clear. Overnight lows will be cooler tonight as skies clear with a significant warm up coming for the later part of the week.
We will continue to see this mix of snow and rain early turning to all rain pretty quickly. The moisture left to our west appears to be enough to keep the rain falling through noon and tapering off after that. We will continue to see the chance of showers into tomorrow morning but skies will clear by the afternoon with sunshine expected through the end of the week.
