More sunshine and warm temperatures.

For 4/28/09: The cold front associated with the last round from the north has cleared the area and we can expect sunny skies and much warmer conditions building today. Moisture lifting into the southwest out of AZ will offer some fuel for convective cloud cover this afternoon but nothing organized enough to present more than big popcorn cloud formations over the higher terrain.

Overnight lows have stayed pretty even through most of the last week with clear skies giving way again to a low of 25 degrees in Crested Butte while Gunnison remained a couple degrees warmer at 29 degrees. We will bounce back early with the warmer southern flow dominating with today’s highs climbing to the high 40’s and high 50’s depending on your altitude. This warm up will bring back the drainage winds so look for those to build into the heat of the day.

We are seeing very little in the way of variables in the western weather pattern right now with moisture holding to the north and a warmer southern flow lifting into our area. Little mixing of these systems will mean little by way of variables beyond cloud cover building into the afternoons but we are seeing a more active pattern building into the weekend.
