The sun is back.
For 4/27/09: The storm we were expecting through the weekend turned out to be a bit of a dud lacking the dynamics to really get the moisture falling in any form. As the tail end blew clear of the area overnight it left us a parting shot in the form of a couple inches of snow. This will melt quickly this morning as we enter a pocket of high pressure that will keep us in sunny skies through most of the week.
Overnight lows dropped under the clear skies with the fresh coating of snow with Crested Butte reporting 18 degrees this morning while Gunnison stayed warmer at 24 degrees. We will see colder temperatures today topping out in the 40’s valley wide but look for a significant warm up into tomorrow with highs topping out in the 50’s and 60’s again. The rest of the week promises to be mild with some gusting winds and light cloud cover but mostly sunny conditions will dominate.
As temperatures warm for today this snow will melt quickly and we will return to the spring pattern. With mostly sunny conditions on tap through the better part of the week it will be a great time to get a jump on some outdoor projects.
