4/16-18

For 4/16-18/09: A blocking ridge has set up in the west and this has stalled the forecast progression of this latest flow of pacific moisture. We will see the brunt holding to the other side of the divide with moisture wrapping around from the north offering a hard to predict mix of conditions through the end of the week.

Temperatures under this northern flow will remain cold through Friday before a milder southwestern flow returns to the area. Overnight lows will hover in the high teens and low 20’s with this cloud cover but if skies clear we could see them drop. By Friday we can expect temperatures climbing into the 40’s with a slow progression bringing us to the 50’s valley wide by the beginning of the week.

The slow progression of this pattern will mean a mix of conditions with gusting winds keeping everything changing quickly. Look for warmer temperatures building into Friday to create a mix that could include convective thundershowers building into the afternoons. Expect the full mixed bag of conditions into the beginning of the weekend and be prepared for all conditions as you head out.
