Another sunny day.
For 4/7/09: This high pressure ridge that has set up through the beginning of the week is still holding strong today and skies should stay clear as this next pacific wave stalls to our west. Look for gusting winds building through the afternoon with light high altitude cloud cover forming just before dark. By tomorrow we will see the front end of this weaker system with a cold front building in on it’s heals offering snow through Wednesday night and into Thursday.
Overnight lows dropped again under these clear skies with Crested Butte reporting 5 degrees while the suspect Gunnison sensor once again stayed in the teens. We will see the slower rebound through this morning with highs eventually topping out in the high 30’s and low 40’s this afternoon. Cloud cover building into the area tonight will mean milder overnight lows and colder temperatures with this next wave topping out in the low 30’s.
This next round of moisture is lacking any real teeth but it will bring high gusting winds and the possibility of mixed precipitation which will mean sloppy travel conditions. There is also word of another dust on snow event so cover anything you don’t want dirty.
