The snow continues.
For 4/1/09: This next round of pacific moisture has set up early offering a couple inches overnight and regional radar is showing a healthy stream of moisture that will continue to feed through the area over the course of the day. It looks like this system will produce a decent amount of snow through the day with some remnants lingering along the divide and higher terrain into tomorrow.
Temperatures have hardly moved since yesterdays cold highs in the 20’s dropping to just 20 degrees in Crested Butte and 21 degrees in Gunnison. We will see these climbing a few degrees throughout the day but holding to the high 20’s again for most elevations. Skies should start to clear overnight allowing for some colder overnight lows but moisture wrapping around along the divide could keep us in the snow and milder temperatures. A switch to a more mild flow out of the southwest will offer warmer temperatures through the end of the week.
Waves of pacific moisture are continuing to stack to our west and will be feeding into our area through the weekend. Look for Thursday to offer a gap of partly sunny skies with a fresh round building into the area for Friday. Bundle up as you head out today with gusting winds and squally snow showers expected through the day.
