Clear blue Skies.

For 3/28/09: We are in the gap between pacific waves and will enjoy sunny skies through most of the day with only some light cloud cover building into this evening. A fresh round of pacific moisture will fill into the area through Sunday with snow expected overnight and into Monday morning.

Temperatures have stayed cold with this northern flow with overnight lows dropping under clear skies to 5 degrees in Crested Butte and 8 degrees in Gunnison. We will rebound to another high in the low 30’s but it may be a slow climb for the lower valleys this morning.

This next round of moisture setting up for Sunday afternoon is carrying a lot of wind but also has good dynamics so look for squally snow overnight with 3-6” of accumulation possible into Monday morning. Snow will continue in varied degrees through the beginning of the week but without seeing what will remain intact behind these winds, it’s hard to predict the long term forecast. Include some warmer layers as you head out this morning but be prepared for sunny skies all day. Don’t forget the sunscreen and reapply often.
