Snow overnight but partly cloudy early.
For 3/25/09: Wrap around moisture from this last wave coupled with a cold front from the north have offered a nice 4” bonus overnight with more scattered moisture still showing on the regional radar early. Look for a mix of sun and snow showers today as we gap systems but another stronger system will build into the area overnight offering heavy snow again for Thursday.
Much colder daytime temperatures have not given way to colder overnight lows with the consistent cloud cover continuing to offer lows in teens with Crested Butte reporting 16 degrees last night. We will see another high in the low 30’s again valley wide even with the gaps of sunshine but gusting winds will also develop as these systems shift into the afternoon with colder windchill values you will want to prepare for. Cloud cover should fill in quickly tonight but if not clear skies will mean significantly colder lows.
This next system we will see on Thursday is looking like the best chance we have seen at some decent accumulation in a while but models are still differing on the trajectory and speed. Look for snow early Thursday lasting into the night before skies clear through Friday. Consistent volleys of pacific moisture will keep the snow falling in various degrees into next week as March goes out like a lion.
