A mix of sun and snow.
For 3/24/09: This last system has mostly cleared the area with a mix of sun and very scattered snow showers expected for today. Wrap around moisture from the northwest will keep the divide and higher terrain the most active with some snow and clouds spilling into the valleys. You will want to layer up to account for changes today.
Temperatures stayed mild overnight with the cloud cover dropping to 19 degrees after a much colder high yesterday of 30 degrees. We will see a warmer high today but it will still top out in the mid 30’s valley wide. Tonight we can expect colder lows dropping to the low teens with clearer conditions likely.
We will see another weak system grazing the area through this afternoon which will mean more gusting winds and high cloud cover for the north end of the valley into tomorrow. These lingering remnants will keep the threat of snow showers alive through tomorrow but only very scattered and mostly just for the higher terrain. A bigger system is posturing in the northwest and should hit our area late Wednesday or early Thursday but models are differing on timing and trajectory. Stay tuned for updates as the pattern settles.
