Another sunny day but snow on the way.
For 3/21/09: This high pressure ridge is still holding early but will cycle clear of the area over the course of the day offering high gusting winds and heavy cloud cover. This next round is posturing in the southwest and it looks like we are seeing good dynamics for a real snowmaker through Sunday night and Monday.
Temperatures have stayed mild with this continued southern flow with a valley wide low of 21 degrees again overnight. Temperatures will rebound quickly under this continued high pressure this morning but look for gusting winds building into the afternoon with increasing high cloud cover to offer some colder conditions into the afternoon. Our overnight low will remain mild tonight with this cloud cover but look for colder conditions starting tomorrow and continuing into the beginning of next week.
This system building to our south that will offer the snow by Sunday night is pretty thin but good organization and dynamics will mean heavy wet snow as long as the right components fall into place. Right now it looks like we are doing well but we will need another 24 hours to really see where everything is headed. Layer up today to account for increasing winds and cloud cover and stay tuned for updates as this system approaches.
