And stlll more sunshine.
For 3/16/09: This same zonal pattern is continuing to dominate with high pressure from the southwest feeding into our area while weak pacific systems introduce widely scattered cloud cover from the north. Aside from this mix we will see mostly sunny conditions dominating with above normal daytime highs on tap through the end of the week.
Overnight lows last night looked consistent with the previous few nights with clear skies allowing for colder overnight lows with Crested Butte reporting 11 degrees while Gunnison stayed at 0. Today’s highs will once again rebound quickly under the sunny skies hitting the high 30’s and low 40’s valley wide. Cloud cover building through the afternoon will remain sparse with another cold clear night expected tonight. Temperatures through the rest of this week will remain warm.
High pressure has settled into the southwest with weak pacific systems holding to the north. We will see some glancing blows from their southern most ends but mostly sunny skies will dominate. Bring layers out with you today to account for both warming temperatures this morning and some isolated cloud cover this afternoon and don’t forget your sunscreen.
