Another Sunny day.

For 3/15/09: The moisture that was supposed to lift into our area through Saturday stayed well to the north and south with the western high pressure digging in for what appears to be the long haul. We will see a glancing blow from a northern system offering an increase in the high clouds through this afternoon but that’s really all that there is to pollute these clear blue skies.

Temperatures dropped again under the clear skies overnight with Gunnison reporting -2 degrees again while Crested Butte stayed above the 0 mark at 6 degrees. Mostly sunny skies again today will allow for daytime highs rebounding quickly and breaking the 40 degree threshold to top out a couple degrees higher than yesterday valley wide. Expect another cold night with skies remaining mostly clear again into tomorrow.

The long term forecast calls for a zonal pattern out of the west feeding us clear high pressure conditions with more mild temperatures. It will be worth packing a layer for the increased cloud cover in the afternoon but we really have nothing but beautiful conditions on tap for today. Don’t forget your sunscreen.
