Pacific systems still posturing.

For 3/04/09: A power outage overnight has shut down the weather station. We will have it updating as soon as possible. This unorganized pattern in the west is continuing to feed us a mixed bag if conditions but little with enough teeth to produce any real weather. Today we will enter a gap between pacific waves that will mean partly sunny conditions but also high gusting winds that will keep everything moving quickly. You will want to layer up as you head out and be prepared for cooler windchill values and changing conditions.

Temperatures have remained warm with overnight lows holding in the low 20’s valley wide. These will rebound quickly with daytime highs hovering in the high 30’s and low 40’s but high winds out of the southwest will make for colder windchill values.

The shuffle that will happen in the pattern through this afternoon will cue up a fresh round of pacific moisture that will build through Thursday with snow expected through Saturday morning. This is another weak and unorganized wave but deeper dynamics will mean the potential for squally snow showers that will allow for a little accumulation. This is still developing and we’ll have to see how the different components fall into place after the winds today. Layer up and be prepared for changes over the course of the day.
