More snow.

For 2/14/09: Regional radar is continuing to show some strong pockets of moisture boiling to our west that will cycle through the area over the course of the day. The concentration continues to lack organization but a quick cold shot is adding to the dynamics and could fuel some heavy squally snow showers through the day. Accumulations will likely hold around the 6” mark max by tomorrow morning but it will be a nice haul to add to the sum total for the week.

Temperatures stayed much warmer than yesterday with overnight lows hitting 12 degrees for Crested Butte and 9 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will rebound slowly under the snowy skies but highs will still reach the mid 20’s. Gusting winds as these systems shift will offer some cold windchill values to stay bundled up. Skies staring to clear overnight will allow for the return of colder overnight lows hovering at or below the 0 mark valley wide.

We will see more snow through the day with a few more inches likely before skies clear into tomorrow as we gap systems. Look for lingering snow showers tomorrow holding mostly to the divide and higher terrain. Monday will bring our next big shot of pacific moisture and this system is starting to look like a real snowmaker. Layer up today and expect changing conditions.
