TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update:

For 11/30/08: The western weather pattern has formed an almost completely north to south flow with this trough continuing to dig much further south than anticipate. The result has meant continued snowfall through the last 24 hours with the regional radar continuing to show a fairly impressive stream dropping south over the divide into our area.

Temperatures stayed mild overnight with little movement from the cloud cover with Crested Butte bottoming out at 27 degrees while Gunnison stayed right in check at 26 degrees. There won’t be much of a rebound in daytime highs with CB expecting 31 degrees while Gunnison climbs just a bit higher to 34 degrees. These numbers seem pretty mild but you will also need to account for the windchill from continued high gusting winds which will make for some dangerously cold temperatures. Make sure that you cover up and are prepared for these squally conditions.

Snow will continue to fall in varied degrees all day but the gusting winds will also keep the individual cells moving quickly. Expect another 3” for the day before skies start to clear overnight. Expect sloppy travel conditions today and plan accordingly.
