For 11/22/08: We are seeing changes in the weather pattern but you wouldn’t know it from the changes actually realized in our forecast. We will see another day today of light high altitude cloud cover and mostly sunny conditions dominating. The only change from this last week will be slightly cooler temperatures and some gusting winds developing as a northern trough pushes into Northern Colorado.

Look for a high today in Crested Butte of 44 degrees while Gunnison reaches a bit higher to 50 degree. Overnight lows have stayed cold with no real mixing yet and CB hit 13 degrees last night while Gunnison broke into the single digits at 9 degrees this morning. We are expecting an increase in the winds but probably not enough to scour this stubborn inversion clear of the lower valleys and the cold overnight lows will continue.

As these systems cycle around the west we will stay on the sidelines on this side of the divide with slightly cooler but continued above normal temperatures. Take advantage of these incredible conditions but you will want to pack an extra layer today.
